The Vision Behind Our Backyard Project
Some projects take years to unfold — and this one truly has.
We first worked with Imagine Inc. back in 2017 when we built our house (see our very first blog post here). From the very beginning, we felt confident in their creative vision and thoughtful approach to design. There was a sense of trust right away — the kind that makes a big project feel exciting instead of overwhelming.
Over the years, it’s been amazing to watch their office headquarters evolve into such a beautiful and inspiring space. It’s not just an office — it’s a place where ideas come to life. Walking in now, surrounded by thoughtful design and materials, it really feels like the perfect environment to sit down, talk through plans, and start dreaming about what a future home or project could look like.
A Backyard Dream Years in the Making
This backyard project has been a dream from the very beginning. In fact, it’s part of why we chose our lot in the first place nearly nine years ago. We knew one day we wanted to create an outdoor space where we could host friends and family — a true extension of our home.
Recently, we met with the Imagine team to start bringing that vision into focus. We explored ideas together, discussed a tentative budget, and began laying the foundation for what this project could become.
I shared the feeling and style I was hoping to create in the space: something natural, organic, and a little whimsical — inspired by the charm of European country gardens. A backyard that feels relaxed, welcoming, and layered with texture and warmth.
Seeing preliminary drawings and 3D visuals was such an exciting moment. It helped take the ideas in my head and turn them into something tangible, confirming the direction we want to go.

Looking Ahead
I’m so excited to dive into this process this spring and document the journey along the way. More than anything, I’m looking forward to the memories that will be made here — long summer evenings, gatherings with friends, and time spent together as a family.
